My New Baby

Well guess what? I'm back for photoblogging!! It has been some years, and no, this time I'm not wasting time on a website. I'd rather go for the easiest way to update my blog than having to maintain a site all the time. And why I prefer Blogger? I can make mistakes like clicking on another page while typing this, but Blogger will always ask whether I want to navigate away from the page before saving it first. Like I mentioned before, I don't have time to keep maintaining and rewriting my stuff. And the autosave feature rocks!

Back to the topic. Thanks to the help I received from my mom and my husband Dani, I managed to get myself my lifelong dream camera.

Tada!! It's a Sony SLT-A57!! What more? I have two lenses for it. Tamron 28-105mm and Sony 18-55mm kit lens.

It's a pretty old lens but I enjoy using it more than the kit lens. Hopefully we (me and Dani) can invest on a prime lens soon.

Since this is my introductory post, I'd like to include here that this blog will be ONLY for the pictures I took whenever I go somewhere to spend some time with my family or for working purposes. Note that I won't be writing anything political or religious or anything to discriminate anybody, and expecting your comments to be as such. ANY jealous-type remarks like I used to get before when I was in Italy, such as, "kacang lupakan kulit" (forgotten your own roots), or unnecessary defensive comments like "please delete what you wrote about what that person said about my friend" (because your friend is an awesome friend I'm not mentioning names and most likely I'm talking about someone else), and many more. I speak of the truth and if you don't like reading about the truth, you may close this blog and go read a gossip.

Speaking of blogging about the truth, also keep in mind that my blog will always be about the occasions, the places, the events, and the people. But if I'm describing a culture with the photos I took, doesn't mean I'm talking bad about it. If you think I sound like that, you may write a nice comment there to keep me back in track. I'd appreciate that.

And since yesterday I had the whole day to test the camera in the daylight, I used my toddler model, Alisha, who is also my baby with Dani. She loves cameras, either using them or being snapped by them.

Shutter speed 1/100, aperture f/4.0, focal length 26mm

Shutter speed 1/160, aperture f/5.6, focal length 75mm

Notice that on the first picture, I've placed a logo watermark, and the other one is just my name watermark on it. I'm not sure yet which one is better for the images I share online.

I'm very satisfied with the results. It's really worth it to get a camera like this. I love my Tamron lens as it creates the dramatic effects on the photos.

And today is the second day of us owning this awesome camera. We still feel like we're dreaming. We checked the camera whether it was still in the cupboard as soon as we woke up just to be sure it wasn't a dream. I let Dani have the camera today while at work, so he can have fun a bit outside whenever he finds some time.

I hope this is a good investment. Taking good pictures not only fulfill my artsy needs. But who knows I might be able to make a good income from it.
