Our First Job: Inventory Check

Dani and I finally managed to get our first freelance job. It was located in Damansara uptown, and we just had to take pictures of items in the inventory of a cafe'.

I did all the shooting, Dani did all the writing. Alisha had to tag along too since we had no one to look after her.

It took almost 3 hours but we had fun. I realized that my Tamron 28-105mm lens wasn't functioning as good as before.

We figured out it could be dusty inside since I can't use auto focus with it. But the images came out very good when I used manual focus.

So, most of the time I was using the kit lens. However, the kit lens can't zoom objects very far. I had to keep switching with Tamron lens and use manual focus with it.

I also had to take some pictures outside. The weather, as usual, starting to change. So, we had to hurry before it started raining.

It was almost 5PM and about time for Alisha's nap time. I kept checking on her watching movie on a sofa of the cafe'. She was very close to the entrance with many people passing by. The increasing kidnapping rate in Malaysia lately is very disturbing, so I hope next time maybe I can find someone trustworthy to babysit at home while I'm working.

And then we began taking more detailed pictures inside which required a lot of flash and close-up shots. Luckily I had Dani with me to take notes of each item. We totally forgot about the baby, didn't have a second to look at her. We were just hoping that the waitress there could just make sure the baby didn't leave the sofa. By the time we got back there, we saw her already sleeping.

I took the chance to shoot some more, just some pictures for myself, and pictures outside since I really like shooting the reality; all the dirty streets and whatever else filthy we have here.

After we were done, they treated us dinner at a chicken rice restaurant. Alisha was the happiest since that is her current favorite food.

She had been such a good girl.
